Past Perfect Tense

Past perfect:- We use “has and have” with V3 (past participle) to make a completion report in the present sense of time. Now we will learn how to make a sentence for a completion report in the past sense of timeAs we know past of have is had (V2) and "had" gives us past sense of time. We use "had" with "V3" in past perfect tense.

The past perfect tense is a tense used to describe actions or states that occurred in the past before another action or event also in the past. It is formed by combining the auxiliary verb "had" with the past participle form of the main verb.

We use this tense to give completion report in past.

The structure of the present perfect tense is as follows:

Subject+ had+ past participle.

Example:- She had already eaten when I arrived.

   - In this sentence, the action of eating (past perfect) occurred before the action of arriving (past simple).

 ·       When my father came from duty, I had taken my dinner.

·       When my mother asked me, I had done my homework.

·       When we reached to the station, train had left.
